I wasn’t planning on entering this year, but I was talked into it … we had to find the perfect canvas, and I believe did that. Next, I’ve had the idea of «weaving» brushed vinyl for over four years, just never had the right car to use it on.
I am fairly certain that the «weave» has NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE with vinyl!
That was all I had for this project as for the concept and direction … everything was up to my team of super-crazy-talented designers, installers and helpers. It is with great honor we present to you … the Continental Delinquent. ~ Sean
designer’s note: One day I’m designing commercial fleets, prosthetics and casino walls, next day I have a continental boat on my plate! Our project was inspired by many thoughts, concepts, and hesitations. One design element we were going to show off our hidden technique; Weaved Vinyl. Our first direction we wanted to head towards a Lincoln/Presidential spin off and ended off not feeling quite right. With time running out I took my main inspiration towards the checkerboard pattern and creating a mad hatter, punk rock, and rebel approach. My personal experience of our work environment became these three nuances. Thus the creation of a Continental Delinquent. ~ Casey
installer’s note: One day he said I was a Leader and so, I started leading…. and well… Wrap Like A King… Here we are!!!! Avery’s world wide competition is an opportunity to showcase my profession, my craft and my passion. My goal is to not just wrap for fun but work on «a super cool project and Wrap Like A King was the perfect excuse». We are taking the wrap game to another tier this time around and introducing to the world our new technique, Weaved Vinyl! Weaving strips of vinyl one by one over and under, over and under is enough to drive any installer insane. The only way to survive this journey was to call in help from my weaving expert of an alter ego, Samantha! ~ Olga
