2021 Chevrolet Corvette „PROJECT VOUNO'“

Projektbeschreibung

Our entry is a 2021 Corvette C8 Widebody is the world’s first completely carbon fiber constructed, full fender OE replacement program utilizing all factory mounting locations. This 28 Piece program uses Structural Carbon fiber throughout the construction of the High Wing, High Wing Uprights, Aerodynamic Ducted Hood, Sideskirts, and all mounting surfaces. Our forged carbon process is a proprietary LMC (Label Moulding Compound) process that integrates a hand shredded Forged carbon top layer, and traditional weave structural carbon fiber underneath. The car features many firsts in the C8 Corvette world such as a completely custom titanium Mid Bumper exiting exhaust, Functional Aerodynamic ducted hood integrated into the front bumper, One off Brixton Forged X Label Motorsports AS-01 Designed Forged wheels, 405MM 8 Piston Front brakes and 385MM 6 Piston Rear brakes. In an effort to replicate the historic Corvette color from 1979 called Corvette Frost Blue, we utilized Avery Dennison SW900 Gloss Cloudy Blue and then applied the Avery Dennison DOL 1370z luster overlaminate film creating this historic color with a modern touch on the finish. Interior has been addressed also by wrapping color matching elements such as the steering wheel trim and gauge cluster, and then dissembling the entire seat and wrapping the seatbacks and seat bottom surrounds. We also integrated a complete Suede and contrast stitched wrapped interior program. Every jamb has been wrapped with show quality care and execution eliminating all of the white paint underneath. The intent of the design was to accomplish the ultimate in an OEM Plus build as if Chevrolet was to offer the car from the factory. All design cues and integrations were made within the OE design language, not detracting from the OE designers vision, but enhancing it into a supercar form and utilizing supercar materials without cutting corners.
